A Quick Guide to a “perfect” YouTube Channel

YouTube Channel

YouTube Channel

There are many tools that can be used on YouTube to increase branding. Firstly on your channel, there is channel art, this is your first chance to get across your brand image, and using a clear and catchy image that also shows branding will be highly effective in catching the attention of your potential, future subscribers.

Secondly, on your channel you can add custom thumbnails to all your videos, you can use this to theme them all to suit your brand. There is also a brand watermark which I personally think is highly effective. It means your logo can be featured in all of your videos as well as being interactive and promoting a subscription.

Content

Content is generally broken down into Hero, Hub, and Hygiene. Here is Hygiene is Using a combination of the three will give you the best reach possible as well giving you the best customer retention. Also, try to concentrate on consistency as subscribers like to revive content regularly so use episodic content to keep your audience engaged.

Sales

YouTube does offer many products that can be used to advertise on but I’d rather concentrate on the free advertising options. Firstly annotations can be very useful for this. Use info cards that can be shown anywhere in a video, and once clicked on, expand and give the viewer the option to click through to your site.

Call-to-action overlays do a similar job where they give you the chance to promote your site for free. Also, include links to your website as well as all other social media in the descriptions of your videos to promote your brand and product as much as possible. Hopefully, this short post will be able to give you a quick insight into how to start building up a successful YouTube channel for your brand.

Retail Marketing is more than it seems!

Retail marketing is not that cool compared to other types of marketing industries such as music and sports for example. This is where you’re wrong! Working as an apprentice in Google I thought the same as many others that I have just landed a dream apprenticeship at Google and will be working with retailers! ‘’Sigh’’ But.I have worked mainly on product marketing for Chrome cast and Chrome cast audio in relation to retail marketing.

This has allowed me to work on music creative campaigns with high-profile music artists for Chrome cast audio and produce innovative ideas on how to bring both Chrome cast products to life within retail!

What is ‘Retail Marketing’

It is described as ‘’the process of implementing a product into retail stores’’ This is a great definition and really says it all, it entails 5 key areas all equally important for a products success. In relation to my role working on the Chrome cast and Chrome cast audio, it is important to understand the target demographic and to always think about what they want from a product. This then allows you to produce innovative ideas on how to ensure it is appealing and how Google will target retailers.

My Duties

I have learnt a vast array of skills from working in retail marketing from, marketing campaigns for products to the analysis of product sales alongside project management skills for co marketing campaigns. The list is endless! This skillet is relatable to any type of marketing industry and has been super useful for me to relate this to music marketing, which is the career I wish to pursue after my Google apprenticeship.
