Born Pretty Store Product Review

I received a new package from Born Pretty Store this month and would like to let you know what I thought of the products. I’ve tried out each and every product, the glitter powder, steel beads, and the matte top coat, and had loads of fun creating designs with them.

If you’re thinking of using these products in your own nail art designs, read on to find out what to expect. Scroll down to see the review videos, written reviews, pictures and also some nail designs I did using the products. Enjoy!

Set of 12 Glitter Powders

The set of glitter powders exceeded my expectations and I was really surprised to find that it was actual glitter powders and not hexagon glitters. As I’ve explained in my review video for the product, I’ve had experiences where I received hexagon glitters from eBay sellers and the like, so I was really curious to see what the Born Pretty Store glitters would be like.

The consistency of the glitters is super fine, and it is really easy to apply. All I had to do was paint some top coat onto my nails and dip the nail into the glitter pot. Once the polish was dry, all I had to do was brush off the excess glitter.

The colors are amazing. I got a random set of colors, but I assume that is standard practice at BPS.  The nice thing about this is that you’re going to get different colors each time you purchase, but if you’re looking for a specific color, it may be best to purchase them separately.

Set of 12 3D Steel Beads

The steel beads are gorgeous, and I loved the colors I received. The review video shows all the colors in detail as well as the containers and packaging.  The beads range in size, so it’s easy to create interesting effects by combining larger and smaller beads.  I’ve found that applying a liberal layer of top coat is the best way to get the beads to stick properly. The containers are also filled to the brim, so you get loads of beads in each container.

As a bonus, both the glitter and bead containers are reusable, so you could use them for anything else afterward.  I’m thinking they’d work wonders for storing Fimo slices and the like. I prefer the individual containers for the steel beads because the wheels tend to ‘leak’ one color into another. With separate containers, there’s no chance of that happening.

BK Matte Top Coat

The matte top coat is the second one I’ve tried so far and it’s given me far better results than other local brand I’ve tried.  The polish really does turn the nails matte and creates a nice thick layer on the nail. The only downside to the product is that it tends to shrink a little as it dries. The bottle holds 15 ml and is manufactured from gorgeous frosted or sandblasted glass. It’s really sturdy and should last me ages. The brush is long and broad and that helps with application. I’ve tested it in the review video on top of BPS’s Sweet Color polish in red. I’ll also insert a picture where I painted it onto a practice nail. I painted the tip with the matte top coat, and it’s clear that it turns even the glossiest polish matte.

If you’re going to use steel balls or glitter powder, always place a sheet of paper underneath your hands while you work. It’s easy to collect any excess glitter or beads by folding the paper. Gently pour the glitter or beads back into the container and you won’t waste anything. If you’re having trouble picking up the steel beads, moisten a toothpick and use that to pick up multiple beads at once. While the top coat is still wet, the beads will be easy to move around using the tip of the toothpick and you save time by placing more than just one on the nail at a time.
